STEP 2
Before you scroll down and click on the Join Vision Now Button, please make sure this is something you are doing for the right reasons. It is true that you make money at Officiating, but money should not be the driving force of joining Vision Sports. We are a group that prides itself as a stepping stone to the next level of officiating. 90% of all Mens and Women Officials that have gone on to College D1 and D2 in the past 10 years have shared there younger years with us here at Vision Sports. We are not your typical mail it in group when it comes to providing a service for pay.
At this point you should have a good feel for what we are about and should scroll down to the Join Vision Now Button. Fill out all the information that is needed on line and one of our Supervisors will get back to you within 48 hours. We look forward to seeing you on the court.
STEP 3
Once you have registered, a supervisor will contact you via email or phone to schedule an on the court evaluation. You will be evaluated for a minimum of two games. You WILL NOT be paid for the games you officiate during the evaluation/training sessions. It will be up to the supervisor and the veteran officials who referee with you to recommend you to the assigner for "regular status" and games that involve pay.
STEP 4
Now that you have been evaluated and passed on to the assigner, you are ready for games. At this time it will be the responsibility of the official to start the process of understanding the rules and mechanics of the game. It will also be the responsibility of the official to understand all by laws of the group, as well as the do's and don'ts of the group. You will be assigned a buddy (Supervisor) to get you going with Arbitor and Refpay, and to assist you with understanding how pay and scheduling works. Your Buddy will also help you through the entire process of advancement, camps, and entering the High School Association.
STEP 5
In the Month of October, High School meetings start for both associations that serve the San Diego and North County Schools. They meet on Monday nights through February. We encourage all officials to make this their ultimate goal in their officiating career. All levels of officiating start here at High School. Mechanics and Rules are taught throughout the year, as well as friendships that will last a lifetime.
We have an extensive training camps with both classroom and live instruction throughout the year. At these camps you will discuss nuances of the game, officiating techniques, and specific situation as well as officiate actual games. For more information, please
